Philip Oliver

Co-creator & Programmer

One half of The Oliver Twins, Philip co-created the Dizzy character and series with his twin brother Andrew. He served as primary programmer on many Dizzy titles, developing the game engine and mechanics that defined the series. Philip and Andrew began their professional development careers as teenagers.

After the original Dizzy run, Philip co-founded Interactive Studios (later Blitz Games), one of the UK’s largest independent developers.

Andrew Oliver

Co-creator & Designer

The other half of The Oliver Twins, Andrew Oliver worked alongside Philip on game design and programming for the Dizzy series. The twins were a remarkable creative partnership, producing a prolific output of high-quality games throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Andrew remains active in the industry and has engaged with the Dizzy fan community through retrospective interviews and their YouTube channel.

David Darling

Publisher — Codemasters Co-founder

Co-founder of Codemasters alongside his brother Richard, David Darling oversaw the publication of the entire Dizzy series. Codemasters became the UK’s leading budget software label during the 8-bit era, with Dizzy as their most recognisable franchise.

Richard Darling

David Whittaker

C64 SID Composer

One of the most prolific and celebrated C64 composers of the 8-bit era, David Whittaker contributed SID music to multiple Dizzy titles including Fantasy World Dizzy and Treasure Island Dizzy. His characteristic melodic style, full of charm and invention, matched the whimsical tone of the Dizzy adventures perfectly.

Matt Gray

C64 SID Composer

Matt Gray is a celebrated C64 composer best known for his work on Codemasters titles. He composed the SID music for Magicland Dizzy, Spellbound Dizzy, and Crystal Kingdom Dizzy, among others. His compositions have a sweeping, adventurous quality that perfectly suits Dizzy’s quest-based gameplay.

Allister Brimble

Amiga & PC Composer

Allister Brimble composed music for several Dizzy titles on 16-bit platforms (Amiga and PC). A prolific Amiga composer, Brimble contributed to the richer audio experience of the later Dizzy titles on more capable hardware.
